What to do with stranded power: a site-owner offtake guide

Unused interconnection is already paid for. Here is the sequence — pad, feed, offtake, exit — without waiting on the building.

If you own a powered site and the hall is late, you do not have a branding problem. You have a wasting asset. The study is paid. The deposit is paid. The feed may already be live. This guide is for that owner. It is not a second homepage for gopacific.ai and it is not a reprint of pacific.space. When you are ready to transact, the mothership pages are GPU colocation and platform.

The transformer that sat warm

A Southwest developer had interconnection in the ground and a building that missed two contractor dates. Lenders asked what the site earned while it waited. The honest answer was: interest. They had been taking meetings with people who wanted to talk about the AI market. Nobody showed up with a pad spec, a crane plan, and an exit when the permanent hall opened. Offtake is that unglamorous file. Treat it like one.

Inventory the interconnect before you take a pitch

  • What voltage and available megawatts are actually energized today?
  • Who holds the interconnection agreement, and can offtake sit beside the delayed project?
  • Is there a pad you can prepare without waiting for the building envelope?
  • What is the exit if the permanent tenant or the hall finally arrives?

Write those answers down before anyone mentions GPUs. If you cannot answer them, you are not ready for offtake — you are ready for a site walk. Pacific’s delayed-project framing on bridge capacity is the buyer-side twin of this problem. Same physics, other chair.

Define go-live as pad and feed

A module that arrives complete on one truck and is craned onto a prepared pad is a different asset than a campus. Go-live, for unused-grid offtake, is: pad ready, feed live, remote commissioning path agreed, field-service interface named. It is not a topping-out party. Lenders understand equipment that can be repossessed and redeployed more easily than they understand a half-finished hall. Keep the story in that register.

If you already own HGX hardware and the unused asset is the envelope — power, direct-to-chip cooling, fabric — you are in a fit review, not an offtake-of-electrons review. That path is pacific.space/colocation. Fit is confirmed by engineering intake, not assumed from a reference Pod 32 module.

What this site will not do

We will not invent offtake rates. We will not publish competitor land prices. We will not twin a mothership hero or a five-column footer. If you want Pacific to ingest how the site actually operates — the systems, the people, the constraints — the mothership description of that product is pacific.space/platform. Use it as a briefing, then talk to a human.

The next file in the folder

Take the interconnect inventory to a 30-minute call with Harper. If the asset is owned GPUs, start on colocation. If you want the operating model briefing first, start on platform. Then go live on the pad you already paid to energize.

Continue on the mothership

This satellite stops at the playbook. Transactions, specs, and comparisons live on pacific.space. If the next step is a human, book 30 minutes with Harper.
